(TMX) - Shannen Doherty says a “miracle” treatment is offering a glimmer of hope after revealing last year that her breast cancer had metastasized and spread to her brain and her bones.

The “Beverly Hills, 90210″ star discussed the treatment on Monday’s episode of her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast, with her radiation oncologist Dr. Amin Mirhadi.

“I’m on a new cancer infusion, and after four treatments, we didn’t really see a difference, and everybody wanted me to switch, and I just kind of was like we’re going to keep going with this and see,” Doherty said.

“After the sixth or seventh treatment, we really saw it breaking down the blood-brain barrier. Do I call that a miracle? For me, that happens to be a miracle right now. That like I sort of rolled the dice and said let’s keep going,” she said.

“That it’s actually breaking down that blood-brain barrier is actually a miracle of that drug, a miracle of maybe God intervening and saying, ‘I’m gonna give her a break,’” the “Charmed” star said.

“Sometimes you’re looking for miracles in all the wrong places, and they’re right in front of your face,” she said.

Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, and after chemotherapy, it went into remission in 2017. But in 2019 her cancer returned and was diagnosed as metastatic stage 4 cancer.

In early 2023, Doherty underwent brain surgery after the cancer spread to her brain, at the same time she says she learned her now ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko had been having an affair.

“I went into that surgery early in the morning and I went in after I found out that my marriage was essentially over, that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years,” Doherty said on a December episode of her podcast. “And honestly, it’s still really hard. Yes, I made the decision to file for divorce, but I have a lot of memories with this person.”

In November, Doherty shared that the cancer had spread to her bones. In an interview for a cover story in People announcing the news, Doherty said she’s “not done with living.”

“I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better,” she said.
