something's fishy

Maybe you’re gonna be the one that saves me, because after all—you’re my caviar wall.

Remember Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s wedding? Michael Rapaport does, caviar wall and all, even though it was 23 years ago. The couple divorced in 2005, but the memories of their lavish Malibu nuptials have long outlasted their marriage.

On a Monday episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Rapaport, who co-starred with Pitt in True Romance in 1993, and appeared on Aniston’s Friends in 1999 as a love interest for Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) until his character shot an overzealous songbird, revealed some details about attending the over-the-top nuptials.

“I was at Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s wedding, they had a wall of caviar, I still have some saved over,” Rapaport said, gushing until he was cut off in conversation. Later, he maintained, “I’m still eating the caviar from that. Billy Preston performed. Lot of bucks there.”

Caviar was a hot topic during a segment dubbed “The Rapa-Report” where Bravo superfan Rapaport sounded off on recent scenes from The Real Housewives of New York City alongside RHONY cast member, Jessel Taank.

“Were Pringles and caviar a sufficient enough welcome snack?” Cohen asked the duo, referencing Erin Lichy's hospitality while the cast visited her Hamptons home.

“I'm looking into the camera about this, Erin. Anytime you're serving caviar, let me know," Rapaport said.

Obviously, this gossip’s shelf life has not expired in the ensuing 23 years since the event, which has seen both Pitt and Aniston remarried and separated again (Pitt to Angelina Jolie and Aniston to Justin Theroux). The caviar? Not so much.

Someone may want to check on Rapaport if he’s still nomming down on those nearly quarter-century-old wedding snacks, as, according to CaviarStar.com, “in most instances the quality of any roe will suffer after more than a month.” Even a “sealed and pasteurized jar” is really only good for a year, tops, and the site does not recommend freezing caviar, “especially fine sturgeon caviar.”
