If you were Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, how would you celebrate your second wedding anniversary? By filling up your infinity swimming pool with chilled Chateau Miraval rosé and doing the backstroke? (California is experiencing a terrible drought; this is obviously the best, most eco-friendly alternative for A-list stars.) By staring at your reflection for 24 straight hours in the 24K-gold mirror you designed yourselves? (Trivia note: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the only human beings who can stare at Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for more than five consecutive seconds without turning to stone.) By hiring actors to re-enact your nuptials exactly as they were, with the exception that the actors have to do so on roller skates as Pax deejays? Why not! Sure, all of these seem like reasonable options for the world’s most charmed human beings. But a new report claims that the couple opted for a “low-key” alternative.

Per Us Weekly, the pair celebrated their anniversary by spending a romantic evening at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the iconic pink-and-green-hued getaway where movie stars have been staying for decades. Vivien Leigh met the producer who would cast her in Gone with the Wind there; Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn carried on their affair within its walls; and Howard Hughes called it home. So it makes sense that Pitt and Jolie carry on the Beverly Hills Hotel movie-star tradition by ringing in their own milestones there.

A source for the magazine reports, “It was just the two of them.” (We interpret that to mean that the couple left their six children at home, and not that the couple rented out the entire 208-room hotel. Although that would have been cool too. Maybe next year.) “They had dinner and spent the night, and that was it,” the source continues. “They left the next day.”

The same insider claims that Pitt and Jolie do this from time to time—rent a hotel room—which, as movie stars who travel the globe to make films, we kinda assumed. The source creepily adds, though, “They want to keep the love alive.”

Pitt and Jolie married in August 2014 in a ceremony at their vineyard property in the South of France. Like the couple’s anniversary, the wedding itself was reportedly a low-key affair (aside from the whole “it took place at their vineyard property in the South of France” aspect). Pax made the cake. Zahara and Vivienne were flower girls. Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers. Maddox and Pax walked Jolie down the aisle. The kids helped write the marital vows. The children’s drawings even adorned Jolie’s Versace wedding gown.
