Caroline Dhavernas Cast as Female Lead on Hannibal
Matt Richenthal at .Caroline Dhavernas is about to get all mixed up in the world of Hannibal Lecter.
The actress (Wonderfalls, Off the Map) has been cast as the female lead on producer Bryan Fuller's small screen version of Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon novel. It's based, of course, on the burgeoning relationship between Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).
Dhavernas will come on board the project as Dr. Alana Bloom, a psychology professor at Georgetown University who considers Hannibal her mentor. The character will consult with the FBI and eventually introduce her colleague to Jack Crawford, a bureau chief played by Laurence Fishburne.
Hannibal will likely premiere in early 2013 on NBC.
