ARSENAL legend Freddie Ljungberg received heaps of praise for his appearance on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football show.

The ex-Gunners star, who was a part of the club's historic Invincibles team, was alongside Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher and presenter Dave Jones for Fulham's 3-2 win over Wolves.

But he provided insight into a host of other hot topics in the Premier League.

Interestingly, he cast doubt over Arsenal's title chances despite Mikel Arteta's men moving top of the table on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Brentford.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "I think definitely they’re ready to challenge for the title.

"But the stats here are quite telling and I don’t think they work in their favour."

Ljungberg also analysed Erling Haaland, who scored his 50th Premier League goal in his 48th appearance on Saturday - obliterating the previous record.

He said: "If he goes short, let's say, and he's in line with a centre back, that sprint just on five yards or so, there's no centre back in the world that can catch him.

"And that's when he goes full tilt. And that's why, in my opinion, he scores so many goals, because he's always in front of the centre back.

"People always talk about technique, players should be technical, and there's stepovers and there's the 'L' turn, I don't really care.

"This [Haaland's movement] for me is technique. There's no small steps in between, it takes time. The first touch is perfect, the second touch, and then the shot comes.

"For me that's the highest level of technique."

Reacting to his appearance on Monday Night Football, one viewer said: "They need to get more players like Ljungberg on Sky Sports.

"Much better than some of the other pundits they get on."

Another added: "Tell you what Freddie Ljungberg knows his stuff. Brilliant insight."

A third replied: "Freddie Ljungberg is fantastic! Please could he be on more often?? 🤞🙏."

While a fourth responded: "Very impressed with Freddie Ljungberg on."

Ljungberg won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups as a player at Arsenal.

He then returned to coach their U18s side in 2018, before he was appointed interim first-team manager in December 2019 following the sacking of Unai Emery.
