Real Madrid's Gabriel Heinze is set for two months out after he sustained an injury against Zaragoza.

Defender set for another spell on the sidelines

Real Madrid are set to be without Gabriel Heinze for two months after he sustained a leg injury in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Real Zaragoza. The Argentinian lasted only 17 minutes of the Primera Liga encounter before having to be replaced by Miguel Torres. The full-back was struggling with a problem in his left leg and a medical examination has confirmed that he has ruptured a muscle. It will be Heinze's third spell on the sidelines since his summer move from Manchester United and comes at a time when he was beginning to establish himself within the first team.

Unhappy

"I am unhappy because this is a period when the team will be playing many matches," he said. Real will now be without Heinze for a number of league games, the next round of the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League last 16 encounter with Roma.
