Biography: Ana Ivanović is a Serbian former professional tennis player. She was ranked No. 1 in the world in 2008, after winning the French Open.
Ivanović started playing tennis when she was five years old. She won her first tournament at age six, and turned professional at age 14. She won her first WTA title in 2006, at the age of 18.
In 2008, Ivanović won the French Open, defeating Dinara Safina in the final. She also reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and Wimbledon that year. Ivanović was named the WTA Player of the Year in 2008.
Ivanović's ranking peaked at No. 1 in 2008, but she struggled with injuries and poor form in subsequent years. She retired from tennis in 2016, at the age of 29.
