The Pyramid Mountain

Jason Kamin, professional artist who was a member on our 2012 Nepal expedition, just finished the most incredible mountain painting I have ever seen... the Pyramid mountain of the Himalaya - the beacon that lured me into the Lost Valley of Nar Phu nearly a decade ago. While no photograph could do the mountain justice, Jason’s masterpiece has somehow captured the mountain in all her glory.

In Jason’s words:

“The mountain that inspired a climber that created a journey that inspired a book. This impressive peak lies at the top of the trail to Old Phu east of the Annapurna Conservation area in Nepal. The Nepal- Tibet border lies across the peak.

“The Guardian represents the mountains stature, the position it takes residing over The Lost Valley, its people and its ever so fragile culture. It is the gateway to Tibet. In the book “A Story of Karma”, it plays a significant role in the destiny of a climber, and the ripple effect it causes will touch the lives of many.

Easily the largest mountain painting I’ve done to date. But of course... it had to be.”
