The T-X3 Battery Grip is an add-on, multi-function accessory for the Sony PSP. The T-X3 serves as an enhanced ergonomic grip, protective case, supplemental battery, as well as a stand. While we were not provided details on how exactly the device attaches to the system or swivels, it would seem that it connects to the top portion of the console and can be moved into three individual configurations: closed, open, and standee. The closed position covers and protects the system's faceplate and screen, while the open position and standee positions are reserved for regular use and media viewing, respectively. The open position serves the added grip function, while the standee position props the system at an angle for use when displaying video and audio media. Additionally, the T-X3 Battery Grip features a built-in battery reserve that connects to the PSP's ACC input.
While the T-X3 Battery Grip was designed specifically and exclusively for the PSP, Thrustmaster's other latest release, the Universal Charge & Stereo, was intended for a variety of devices. The Universal Charge & Stereo is a car charger pack for use with the both the regular and lite versions of the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, as well as Apple's iPod. The pack includes a total of six items: a retractable DS USB cable, a 2-in-1 retractable USB cable for PSP, a detachable wrist strap, a anti-static and fingerprint cleaning cloth, a pair of stereo headphones, and a USB car cigarette lighter adapter. In addition to simply charging from the car adapter, the retractable USB cables can be used to charge and transfer media to your systems from a PC or PS3.
The T-X3 Battery Grip has a suggested retail price of $29.99, and the Universal Charge & Stereo pack will cost $19.99. Both items are available now through Thrustmaster.com and retailers nationwide.
