Terry O’Quinn is headed to Amazon.
The Lost Alum has joined the cast of Amazon Studios pilot The Patriot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
From writer-director Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness), The Patriot is a dramedy centered on the Allerton family. O’Quinn will portray Tom Allerton, a director of intelligence at the State Department and father of undercover spy John Allerton and congressman Edward Allerton. He joins a cast that includes Michael Dorman (The Water Diviner) as John Allerton and Kurtwood Smith (That ‘70s Show) as an adversarial character named Mr. Claret.
O’Quinn’s involvement with The Patriot comes a little more than a week after he boarded the second season of ABC anthology Secrets and Lies, which returns midseason. His past credits at ABC include Lost and short-lived 666 Park Avenue.
The Patriot is one of several pilots currently in development at Amazon, including David E. Kelley legal drama The Trial and period drama The Good Girls Revolt. Amazon released two new pilots — Bryan Cranston-produced Sneaky Pete and Diego Luna starrer Casanova — for free public viewing and rating on Friday. If these pilots are picked up to series, they will be available on Amazon’s Prime Instant Video for subscribers of the e-commerce giant’s $99 Prime membership.
This fall, Amazon will premiere four shows, including the second season of critically-acclaimed dramedy Transparent and the first season of highly-anticipated dystopian period drama The Man in the High Castle.
