Hollywood sister duo Elle and Dakota Fanning never miss an opportunity to support one another at their events, or a chance to show off their contrasting styles.

On Tuesday night, Elle showed up to celebrate her older sister at Netflix’s Ripley NY Tastemaker event, held at New York City’s Crosby Street Hotel. The gathering toasted the streaming giant’s new thriller series Ripley, which Dakota stars in. Based on Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 crime novel The Talented Mr. Ripley, the show premieres April 4.

For the occasion, Dakota opted for a sleek and easy little black dress—this one a sleeveless maxi in a breezy cotton fabric. The actor tied a black blazer around her waist and accessorized only with a stack of Cartier’s white gold and diamond Juste un Clou bracelets and a matching ring. She wore minimal makeup and wore her blonde hair down in subtle waves.

Elle, meanwhile, went for a full rouge moment. The star of The Great wore a silky red trench coat—with some glamorous sheen—as a dress, pairing it with sheer black tights from Calzedonia and black ballet flats. She carried a black mini bag and added another pop of red with her lipstick. Her blonde hair was styled in a sleek curled-in bob.

Dakota has been showing off her minimalist fashion all week while promoting Ripley. During an appearance on The Tonight Show, for example, she looked lovely in a bright red slipdress with a crisscross detail at the waist. And to chat on Live With Kelly and Mark, she wore a one-shoulder column dress in off-white, seemingly from the Row.
