Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, who were married from 2000 to 2005, are reportedly "still in touch," according to a source who spoke to Entertainment Tonight. The Friends star "continues to stay in touch with Brad and they occasionally talk. They both have come so far," the insider told the outlet.
But don't hold your breath for a romantic reunion. ET's source added that Aniston "finally has started dating," thanks to support and encouragement from "women in her life" and her friends, like Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox.
Pitt and Aniston recently proved they're on amicable terms when he showed up to her 50th birthday party in February. Pitt tried to stay low-key, wearing a flat cap and dark clothes, but that didn't stop him from getting spotted as he entered the West Hollywood venue. At the event, he and Aniston "hugged and chatted for a bit," but she "didn't really pay any special attention to Brad," according to People.
Though the highs and lows of their relationship were longtime tabloid fodder, Aniston has no hard feelings about her past marriage with Pitt—or with Justin Theroux, whom she was married to from 2015 to 2017. She told ELLE magazine in 2018 the following.
"My marriages, they've been very successful, in [my] personal opinion. And when they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness didn't exist within that arrangement anymore. Sure, there were bumps, and not every moment felt fantastic, obviously, but at the end of it, this is our one life and I would not stay in a situation out of fear. Fear of being alone. Fear of not being able to survive. To stay in a marriage based on fear feels like you're doing your one life a disservice."
A source told Us Weekly this year that Pitt "of course wishes he'd handled the end of their marriage in a more thoughtful manner." The actor even "asked for Jen's forgiveness a long time ago and she gave it."
