Poldark's producer wasn't sure if women would find Aidan Turner handsome.

Although it seems unthinkable that anyone wouldn't appreciate Turner's genetic gifts (see above for more of his swarthy ruggedness), producer Damian Timmer turned to the show's composer for reassurance that viewers would think he was hot.

"It is true," said Poldark composer Anne Dudley. "Damien did ask me, 'Do you think women will find Aidan attractive?' I said, 'I don't think you will have a problem."'

The show's writer Debbie Horsfield disappointingly said recently that Turner's character Ross will be more covered up in the next series, which airs on the BBC this autumn.

"Unfortunately autumn is very chilly in Cornwall, so he won't be doing any more of that," she said. "You see a couple of moments in the bedroom where Ross has no top on, but that's as raunchy as it gets. I think it's quite subtly done to be honest."
