Tom Ackerley (Margot Robbie's husband), consider yourself on notice. The spouses of Ken and Barbie should be repping the upcoming movie hard. And Eva Mendes got the memo.

In an Instagram post, the Hitch star posed in a T-shirt featuring her husband, Ryan Gosling, in character as Barbie's himbo BF Ken, complete with swoopy bangs and an unbuttoned denim vest showcasing his tanned abs. “Barbie 2023: Ryan Gosling as Ken,” reads the top. In cuffed jeans and sporting flaming red hair, Mendes is clearly talking to someone, though she didn't upload a video. This woman uses Instagram however she wants and we can all just enjoy it.

“Got that real big energy” is a lyric from the song “Big Energy” by Latto. But Kenergy, as a concept, started with Gosling. Back in April the actor appeared at CinemaCon to promote the movie and reflected on his decision to take the part, saying that, before he signed on, “I didn't know Ken from within, and if I'm being really honest, I doubted my Kenergy. I didn't see it, but Margot and Greta, they conjured this out of me somehow,” per EW. And before that, in July 2022, Gosling told the press of Eva Mendes, “She’s been very supportive. She’s supporting my Kenergy…. She started a hashtag, #ThatsMyKen, which meant a lot to me.” Suffice it to say, this couple have their talking points down.

“Coz girls is players too” is a line from the Coi Leray song “Players.” Though, if your first thought was Jay-Z rapping, “Ladies is pimps too,” same.

Sixty-six days until Barbie hits cinemas… we're counting down the days.
