Technically speaking a separate municipality, the town of Holon is essentially a southern exurb of Tel Aviv and home of the remarkable Design Museum Holon. This excellent museum makes its home in an unusual building by acclaimed architect Ron Arad and is distinguished by a series of intertwined, curving metal loops colored a deep burnished orange. There’s a permanent collection of design works created in Israel from the 1930s to 2000, and a contemporary design collection from 2000 onwards. Give yourself at least three hours so you don’t feel rushed.
