Blanka will appear as Blanka-Chan in his Street Fighter 6 stage if he isn't currently in the fight
Fans got themselves a morsel of new information about Street Fighter 6 this week after going over a month now without hearing any news. Game Informer shared a look at a handful of the game's classic costumes, as well as the reveal of a new feature called Dynamic Controls that offers players a more simplified way to play.
It was in that latter announcement that we saw new game footage, and for the first time witnessed a battle on Blanka's Street Fighter 6 stage without Blanka actually being in the fight. With this, we noticed that when the electric world warrior isn't actually fighting on his own stage, he will make an appearance in the background dressed as Blanka-Chan.
In the footage, Chun-Li and Jamie can be seen slugging it out in the Amazon stage that is a recreation of Blanka's old Street Fighter 2 stage. Moving over to the left side of the battleground, we can clearly see ol' Blanka-Chan in the background standing next to what might be Blanka's mother.
While the fight is going on, Blanka stands there watching the action while fidgeting like an excited child. Every once in a while, he'll jump up and down and cheer on the combatants.
We actually get to see his animation when a round concludes here too, and it's just as silly as you'd expect from Blanka-Chan. When someone takes the round, Blanka will flip upside down into a handstand pose, then proceed to clap for the winner with his feet.
This isn't the first time we've seen this in a Street Fighter game, and actually not the first time it's happened in Street Fighter 6. As we know, if Guile isn't in the fight on the Carrier Byron Taylor stage, he'll pop out of a jet in the background and end up watching the fight.
