Aquaman's Amber Heard is "red-dy" to start filming the eagerly-anticipated superhero sequel, as she debuts her latest hair transformation.
In the follow-up, which sees James Wan return to direct, Dune star Jason Momoa reprises his role as the titular half-human, half-Atlantean, while Heard is back on board to play Arthur Curry's love interest Mera.
The latter took to Instagram on Wednesday (October 27) to offer fans a glimpse at her fiery new look. Mera had red hair in the first film, which was released in 2018, so it's no real surprise that she has the same barnacle... sorry, barnet... this time round, but it's nice to see that production is moving along swimmingly.
Other familiar faces set to return include Temuera Morrison (as Arthur's father Thomas), Patrick Wilson (as Aquaman's half-brother Orm), Dolph Lundgren (as King Nereus) and Candyman's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (as the vengeful David Kane/Black Manta).
DCEU newbies Randall Park (as marine biologist Dr. Stephen Shin), Vincent Regan (as Atlan), Jani Zhao (Stingray), Indya Moore (Karshon) and Game of Thrones actor Pilou Asbæk, whose role has not yet been confirmed, round out the supporting cast.
According to Momoa, the movie doesn't just have a star-studded line-up – it has crazy action, high stakes and... "a lot of comedy" too.

"This time around, I feel like [we're] pulling out all the stops," he explained during a recent interview with Fandango. "We all learned something one the first one. It's exciting because I haven't made too many sequels, even on the page, it was absolutely wonderful. There is so much going on.
"I mean, I giggled reading it. There's a lot of fun. There's a lot more heart, there's a lot more risk. In the last three or four years, technology has just... constantly... It's just moving at such a rapid pace that what we're doing with [the] underwater [scenes] is just on a whole other level."
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom currently has a release date of December 16, 2022.
