Toyota Argentina S.A., situated in Zárate, Buenos Aires, is a completely owned subsidiary of Toyota was founded in 1994, began importing automobiles in 1995 and assembling them in 1997.

Over US$2 billion had been invested in the business by 2017. Meanwhile, production capacity has grown from 10,000 to 140,000 automobiles per year.

The workforce, which began with 400 workers, had increased to 2,700 by 2007, over 4,000 in 2011 and 5,000 in 2015.
