They're one of Hollywood's most enduring couples, having been married since 1997. 

And Eric Bana looked completely smitten with his wife Rebecca Gleeson on Tuesday as they enjoyed a family holiday in Positano, on Italy's Amalfi Coast.

The Australian actor, who recently starred in Netflix drama Dirty John, showed off his muscular frame in a pair of blue and orange boardshorts at the beach.

Eric, 50, completed his summer look with a straw boater hat and stylish sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Rebecca flaunted her ageless figure in a blue longsleeve swimsuit as she cuddled up to her movie star husband.

Later on, the 48-year-old stripped down to a floral bikini for a sunbathing session.

At one stage, Eric played the role of photographer by taking snaps of his leading ladies while sightseeing in Positano.

The Time Traveler's Wife star crouched slightly with a digital camera in hand as Rebecca and Sophia posed in matching sunhats.

The European getaway comes after Eric reached a major career milestone earlier this month: being appointed to the Order of Australia.

He made the Queen's Birthday honours list for his contribution to the arts, alongside the likes of Hugh Jackman and Sigrid Thornton.

At the time, he said that his acting career had been something of a happy accident, after starting out as a comedian in the early '90s. 

'It's not something I ever thought about and it's not something I ever even aspired to, it just happened,' he said.

'It's never been on my radar, so I am genuinely shocked and obviously thrilled – I am really, really chuffed.'
