Freddie Ljungberg has vowed to put 'smiles on faces' after being announced as Arsenal's interim manager following Unai Emery's sacking.
Emery was sacked on Friday morning following a rapid downturn in form under his guidance this season. Ljungberg, his No 2, replaces him on an interim basis while the club searches for a long-term replacement.
'However long I oversee Arsenal for I will give everything I have to put smiles on faces again,' Ljungberg said on Twitter.

Taking to Twitter, Ljungberg asked fans for their support of the team in the coming weeks
'We have a busy few weeks ahead and the team needs your support. Let’s get to work!'
Arsenal travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich on Sunday before they host Brighton at the Emirates stadium next Thursday.
Emery was sacked early on Friday following Arsenal's 2-1 defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.
Ljungberg played for Arsenal for nine years, winning the Premier League twice
Ljungberg spent nine years at Arsenal as a player from 1998, winning two Premier League titles and two FA Cups.
He spent time as Emery's assistant manager this season as well as coaching Arsenal's Under 23 side.
