Although there hasn't been an official statement from either party, The Hollywood Reporter writes that George "had an altercation in October and stormed off the show's Atlanta set."

But don't worry, viewers, there's still some time to say farewell to the 51-year-old. The publication reports that George's last appearance in the program will air in 2019.

George has co-starred in the reboot of the popular 1980s drama since its premiere back in September 2016. His character on the show, Jack, is best friends with the lead Angus "Mac" MacGyver, who's played by Lucas Till.

Once news hit about George's departure, viewers were understandably upset about the report.

"I’m crying at midnight bc I just read that George Eads is leaving MacGyver this year and I am not okay," one person tweeted. Another wrote, "...was sad to read that George Eads is leaving the show. Not sure how it will be the same without the Jack and Macgyver relationship...." Some else added, "A pity he's leaving, George Eads is the best thing about #MacGyver."

It's still not exactly clear why George is exiting MacGyver, but The Hollywood Reporter adds that former CSI star has wanted to leave for a while so he could spend more time with his daughter, who lives in Los Angeles.

Representatives for Eads and CBS declined to comment to The Hollywood Reporter.
