DAREK CIOCH

 

Darek Cioch is a Korean and Polish American writer from Seattle. While studying film at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Darek won the school-wide screenwriting competition with his zombie romantic comedy screenplay. After moving to Hollywood to begin his entertainment career, Darek worked for Anonymous Content and assisted the producers of the Emmy Award-winning series TRUE DETECTIVE. He then moved on to a programming assistant position at HBO where he supported the teams behind BARRY, BALLERS, and INSECURE.

Darek made the transition into the television writing room by first serving as a showrunner’s assistant on several shows for Universal Television before being promoted to writers’ assistant on ABC’s THE BAKER AND THE BEAUTY. He has recently assisted on an upcoming show for FX, and is currently a researcher for FX’s IMPEACHMENT: AMERICAN CRIME STORY. Darek has been named a semifinalist for Screencraft’s Film Fund, Short Screenplay and TV Pilot writing competitions, and his work has screened at the HollyWeb Film Festival. He lives in Los Angeles, California.
