The lucky buyer who eventually snaps up Linkin Park guitarist and singer Mike Shinoda’s $9.5 million Beverly Hills house will be inheriting a residence with a long line of celebrity owners. Before the rocker called the seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom dwelling home, it belonged to True Lies actor Tom Arnold, and before that, Paula Abdul owned the 7,728-square-foot property.

Shinoda bought the house from Arnold back in 2008 for $7.4 million, and is now ready to let it go to the next worthy buyer. Situated within a guard-gated enclave in the exclusive Beverly Hills Post Office area on three quarters of an acre of landscaped grounds, it is Mediterranean-inspired in style, with terra-cotta roof tiles and a stucco exterior. The front door opens to a rotunda foyer with a double-height ceiling and a curved stone staircase with an elegant wrought iron railing. The step-down living room is accessible through an archway and features brown-painted walls, large French windows, and a stone fireplace. The dining room is no less elegant, with unique gold brocade wallpaper. In the kitchen is a farmhouse sink, glass-fronted cabinetry, and marble countertops surrounding a large center island topped with a sleek finished wood surface. A brightly lit breakfast nook leads directly out to the back patio.

Each of the guest and family bedrooms are en suite and have their own look. One boasts sage green walls and an exposed wood beam ceiling, another features a delicate chandelier, and another has more modern recessed lighting and crown molding. The master suite boasts a spacious sitting area featuring an antique fireplace flanked by built-in bookshelves and cabinetry, with French doors opening out onto a private terrace. In addition to an en suite master bathroom, it also houses an enviable walk-in closet with curved walls and floor-to-ceiling glass-fronted shelves. Out back, notable features include a koi pond, a dining loggia with built-in grill, a swimming pool, and spa.

Just last fall, Shinoda bought a nearly $8 million modern farmhouse near Encino; he also still maintains a quiet residence in Sherman Oaks that he bought for just under $900,000 more than a decade ago.
