Ex-Inter striker Samuel Eto’o has discussed his time at the Nerazzurri and in particular the Argentine players in the team whilst he was in Milan, according to a report in the Argentinian media.
Speaking during an interview with La Nación, Samuel Eto’o talked about how joining Inter and Jose Mourinho from Barcelona gave his career a new lease of life and allowed him to get that winning feeling back.
“My departure gave me the opportunity to join another family, that of Inter, with very important players and a unique coach like José Mourinho, who allowed me to win again.”
Samuel Eto’o joined Inter in 2009 after making almost 150 appearances for Barcelona. He won two UEFA Champions League’s and four La Liga Titles with the Blaugrana, but his time there ended in an unhappy fashion.
At Inter, he managed to win the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League again in 2009/10 as part of Jose Mourinho’s team. It was a team that contained a few Argentine stars such as Diego Milito, Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso, and Walter Samuel. Samuel Eto’o described them as real men.
“The Argentine player has a peculiarity. They are among the best in the world and they are real men.”
