Jean-Paul Belmondo was born on April 9, 1933 near Paris into an artistic family. In childhood and adolescence, he was seriously fond of sports, and even wanted to become a professional boxer. Nevertheless, the love of art took its toll, he chose the theater. The teachers of the faculty of the Paris Conservatory of Dramatic Arts believed that he had talent, but they were afraid that an extraordinary appearance would interfere with the aspiring actor.
In 1960, the role of the young criminal Michel Poicard in Godard's Breathless turned Belmondo into a legend of the French New Wave cinema, the film itself became the classics of the world cinema. In his filmography, there are many comedies and action films, almost all the stunts in which the actor performed himself.
