Motherhood might not have been a blessing for these young mothers
Motherhood is the divinest gift of one’s life, the months following a newborn’s arrival is a phase that is meant to be nurtured with the purest form of love and counted as the most blessed days of one’s lifetime.
But unfortunately, for some the experience of motherhood doesn’t translate as one to be rejoiced and revisited for years to come. Especially when the mother is too young, almost a child herself, and mostly unaware of what led to these eventuality. Counting today the youngest mother’s in the world, motherhood, to whom didn’t come as a fond blessing.
Lina Medina, a Peruvian girl of five was fund pregnant at the age of five. She had no collection of the scene that might had led to her pregnancy, the police, however, arrested her father suspecting child sexual abuse only to acquit him later on account of insufficient proofs. Who fathered Lina’s son, till date, remains to be a mystery.
Yelizaveta “Liza” Gryshchenko was barely six, in August 1934, when she mothered a still born baby in the Soviet Union. Through investigations it was revealed that the father of Liza’s baby was her maternal grandfather, a 70 year old who had raped his own granddaughter. As the scandal became the talk of town, Liza’s family emigrated.
At the age of three, Griseldina Acuña, a Colombian citizen, experienced her first period. When eight years and to months old, Acuna birthed a healthy baby boy on September 13, 1936. It is alleged that it was a family friend of the young mother’s parents who had impregnated her.
Zulma Guadalupe Morales of Mexico conceived her first child before she reached the age of eight. A healthy boy was born to her in January 1993, at the National Medical Center of the West hospital located in Guadalajara, Mexico through caesarian section. Morales in another victim of familial rape and the father of her baby turned out to be her own uncle.
Though not much is known about Anya of Russia, what is said of her is that she reached menarche at a very young age. This encouraged her neighbor’s 13 year old son to rape Anya and impregnate her when she was about eight years old. In April of 2000 she brought her daughter Dasha to earth.
Hilda Trujillo, from Peru, was eight years and seven months old when she welcomed her daughter Maria del Rosario. Hilda’s 22 year old cousin had forced himself on her thus causing the pregnancy; the cousin was eventually arrested and prosecuted.
Nigerian girl Mum Zi was not only too young to be a mother at the tender age of seven, but also the youngest grandmother to have walked the earth. Its heart rendering that the very daughter she bore shared her ill-fate, went through the same mishap and birthed her son when nine, thus making Mum Zi a grand ma at 17. No one knows who the father is, but that both the girls were properties of a chieftain’s harem and it’s rather disturbing to know that both the girls were impregnated by the same man.
Its a shame on humanity that the family members and friends whom people entrust with the responsibility of their children when compelled to be away from them, often end up breaching their trust and robbing the children of their innocence , scarring their childhood forever.
