New Year woodblock prints are a popular traditional art form in China, and are a widely circulated folk custom seen during the Chinese Lunar New Year festival to bestow blessings of prosperity and good fortune.

Dongchangfu New Year woodblock prints, as a style of folk-art, have been passed down through the generations for over 300 years in Liaocheng, east China's Shandong Province. They draw inspiration from a wide range of sources, including real-life scenarios, historical figures, opera stories, and mythology and legend. They usually feature themes of auspiciousness such as blessings, wealth, longevity and joy.
