Introduction
This book is about a little girl called Heidi. Heidi is a nice kid who loves exploring and being free. She brings on an adventure and you feel like you can actually relate to her. You think of your own childhood and how much you were like Heidi. If you like books that totally relax you, get you excited and bring you on adventure, then Heidi is the book for you.
Story and Characters
It’s about an extremely strong little girl called Heidi. She is an orphaned girl raised by her aunt. But her aunt finds a job and shoves her onto her grandfather who no one in the village he lives in likes. He doesn’t exactly like the fact of her staying there but soon gets used to her and loves the company.
She meets a lot of friends when staying with her grandfather. First she meets Peter who looks after the goats. She takes trips with Peter and he likes her being there and they become best friends, he takes her to see his grandmother and his mother. When she gets there she realises that there are a lot of problems with Peter’s home and with his grandmother. She spends a lot of time talking to Peter’s family. And his grandmother cheers up every time she hears Heidi coming.
Heidi is a very caring young girl and when she saw Peter’s house she knew it needed mending and the only person she knew good enough to do the job was her grandfather, so she gets him to help out and people start to realise that he isn’t so bad after all. But things don’t always stay good in this book, Heidi gets taken to a different place where she gets into a whole lot of trouble. Will she get back to where she feels best or will she be stuck in a place she knows she doesn’t belong?
Summary
I think this book is amazing. If you are the type of person who likes to be happy, who likes to go on a lot of adventures, who likes a changing story then this book is for you. In this book you will feel a wide range of emotions such as anger, guilt, sadness, happiness, confusion and be utterly thrilled. You will discover a wonderful little human who could make you see your life in a different light.
