Thales equips new ships and upgrades existing vessels with latest-generation systems, sensors and equipment that ensure mission success in areas such as maritime security, anti-mine warfare and anti-submarine missions.

Generating over one billion euros per year across its naval markets, Thales is developing new solutions - many of which are on display at Euronaval 2010 - to meet the needs of key players (national navies, coastguard services, port authorities, etc.).

Thales solutions on display include an animated showcase featuring unmanned maritime vehicles – a key force in anti-mine warfare that reduces risks to crewmembers.
The company is also introducing Vigile LW, a new, lightweight, naval Radar Electronic Support Measures system set to redefine situational awareness for small fast patrol craft.

The Rosoboronexport Corporation will display in excess of 50 top-notch pieces of Russian naval materiel and arms at the Euronaval 2010 International Naval Defence & Maritime Exhibition and Conference, to be held in Le Bourget outside Paris from 25 until 29 October, 2010. The exhibition, conducted since 1968, has won universal recognition as the show of global shipbuilding development trends.

Euronaval 2010 is expected to see participation of over 80 delegations from 60 foreign countries. Experts will be able to examine products, manufactured by more than 400 companies from 35 states.

Rosoboronexport’s exposition is traditionally one of the largest and the most comprehensive. Warships, naval aviation, control systems, navigation equipment, simulators, and other hardware represent segments of the international naval materiel market, offering foreign partners comprehensive solutions to strengthen defensive capabilities and security.

Priorities, currently facing the world navies, include the following: regional conflict prevention, sea lanes security, protection of territorial waters, maritime economic zones, offshore oil fields, and commercial shipping, and combating piracy.

Rosoboronexport exhibits ship projects, based on cutting-edge shipbuilding technologies and fitted with powerful armament and state-of-the-art equipment. Such ships, designed to protect the 200-mile exclusive economic zone, include the advanced Tigr-class corvette, the Gepard-3.9-class frigate, Tornado-class littoral combat ships, based on the standardised seaframe, as well as Mangust, Sobol, Svetlyak, Mirazh, and Yastreb patrol boats. Modern mobile coastal missile systems are also effective coast-based defensive assets. Promotional materials, to be displayed at the show, will cover Club-M, Bastion, and Bal-E missile systems.

Rosoboronexport offers foreign customers water zone surveillance systems and systems for providing security to and defending offshore and coastal military and economic facilities, taking into account specific regional features. The afore-mentioned systems boast an open architecture, integrate various monitoring and weapon systems, and, depending on the task at hand, increase the efficiency of employed forces and assets 1.5- to 2-fold. Experts will be able to get extensive information on the Komor-1 submarine detection system, Mys- and MR-10-family coast-based surface target acquisition radars, the Monolit-B surface and air reconnaissance system, and the highly efficient Podsolnukh-E over-the-horizon surface-wave radar.

Russia is the leading submarine exporter. The Project 636 Kilo-class low-noise submarine, armed with the Club-S missile system, is one of the most popular products in the international market. Amur-class fourth-generation diesel-electric submarines, capable of multiple missile launches against various targets, have great prospects as well.

Russia holds the lead in building missile boats, which revolutionised naval science by proving that small-displacement vessels can turn the tide of a naval battle. Rosoboronexport will display the most successful projects, to wit Molniya- and Skorpion-class missile boats.

Customers demonstrate an invariable interest in air-cushion craft. Given a vast experience in building such craft, Russia is considered to be the recognised leader in this field. The unique Murena-E and Zubr landing craft air cushion (LCAC) will be exhibited at Euronaval 2010. The two LCAC feature powerful armament, high troop capacities, speed, and manoeuvrability, and are capable of easily negotiating sandbanks, swamps, heavily vegetated water bodies, and high obstacles.

The Le Bourget exhibition centre will also display Russian naval aviation, in particular shipborne rotary-wing aircraft, including the Ka-27PS search-and-rescue (SAR) helicopter and the Ka-28 anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopter. Due to their unique coaxial rotors they are ideally suited for flights in limited visibility and strong side wind gusts.

In addition to end products experts will also be able to familiarise themselves with various weapon, navigation, command and control, and communications systems. Such systems will be of interest to countries, striving to develop their own shipbuilding industry or upgrade warship in the inventory. They include A-190 Universal-Puma, AK-630M-2 Duet, and AK-306 naval guns, Kashtan-M and Palma surface-to-air missile/gun systems, and the Paket-E/NK anti-submarine torpedo system. Rosoboronexport also offers Club, Yakhont, and Uran-E attack missile systems, which are superior to most foreign rivals as far as their specifications are concerned. For instance, as of today not a single world navy enjoys an effective means against Yakhont missiles.

Rosoboronexport is interested in joint scientific researches and joint design of warships and maritime combat systems. Russian experts are ready to render consultative services and revamp military hardware currently in service. Russian design bureaux and enterprises can also design and manufacture naval materiel and ready-to-operate infrastructure facilities in compliance with the customer’s requirements. Project 11356 frigates, being built for the Indian Navy, are a good example of such cooperation. They are armed with BrahMos missiles, developed jointly by Russia and India. This fact proves Russia’s large-scale abilities and willingness to develop closer links with its partners.

Highlighted will be Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine's latest generation of navigation, ship control and radar technology.

The company's VisionMaster FT and warship electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS) will be on display configured to demonstrate how the system is able to provide effective operational support required for watchkeeping and command teams on smaller vessels. VisionMaster FT provides a highly integrated fully networked suite of marine radar and electronic charting systems designed to form the backbone of the modern ship's integrated bridge.

Other capabilities which will be highlighted are the maritime domain awareness (MDA) coastal surveillance system and the new SeaGuard XBCR x-band coherent radar for small target detection and situational awareness.

Navigation systems on show will include Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine's new MK39 Mod 4 ring laser gyro (RLG) inertial navigation system for naval vessels. The MK 39 Mod 4 RLG provides the same high accuracy geographic position information, with or without GPS, and precise attitude heading data of its predecessors but in a smaller, more cost effective unit.

Northrop Grumman's world leading capabilities in airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) will also be featured including the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye. The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye programme has enhanced the E-2 mission system with new more powerful avionics providing continuous 360-degree scanning capability to detect, track and defeat cruise missile threats at extended range.

Northrop Grumman's airborne surveillance capability will be highlighted with a model of the MQ-8B Fire Scout, the vertical unmanned aircraft system (VUAS) multi-role UAV currently under development with the US Navy for littoral intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

Northrop Grumman's airborne mine countermeasures programmes will be highlighted with a display of the AN/AES-1 airborne laser mine detection system (ALMDS).

The Northrop Grumman ALMDS, in low rate initial production for the US Navy, is an airborne mine countermeasures, wide area surveillance system, designed to detect, classify and localize floating and near-surface moored sea mines. ALMDS uses its pulsed laser light and streak-tube receivers, day or night to image in 3-D, the entire near-surface of the ocean. The system is housed in a pod that is mounted on the port side of an MH-60S helicopter. ALMDS is a key component of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mine Countermeasures (MCM) Mission Package. Northrop Grumman is the LCS Mission Package Integrator for the US Navy.

Related to that, Northrop Grumman will be discussing mission modularity concepts, some of which are derived from the US Navy LCS Mission Package concept for potential application for other navies. A model of the MCM Mission Module will be on display.

The Modularity Concept and derived Mission Packages offer a truly transformational option for naval forces that require the flexibility provided by a modular system. Mission Packages and Mission Modules can be adapted to meet specific mission needs. NATO is currently examining mission modularity architecture for the design, installation and operation of modular mission equipment packages for humanitarian and disaster relief, anti-piracy and harbour defence missions.

Sagem optronics systems have been delivered to navies of some 30 countries and are selected or on board today’s leading ship programs: SNLE NG, Barracuda, Scorpène, the FREMM, Horizon, Anzac and AWD (1) frigates, LHD aircraft carriers (2) and Baynunah class corvettes (3).

A l'approche du salon nautique EURONAVAL, la DICOD publie une infographie très intéressante sur les moyens comparés des marines américaines et de l'ensemble des marines européennes. Au final, le bilan chiffré n'est pas si défavorable aux européens.

Les chiffres sont malgré tout trompeur car les doctrines d'emploi, le niveau de préparation des moyens n'est pas homogène en Europe malgré les nombreux exercices conduits chaque année.
L' annonce de nouvelles réductions budgétaires dans de nombreux pays, devrait amener les marines européennes à penser aux réelles complémentarités à développer. Cette démarche a déjà été initiée il y a plusieurs années. Il faut intensifier cette démarche car elle est la seule acceptable dans nos états pour le futur. Cela exigera du courage politique et du réalisme au niveau des différents états majors nationaux.

Un nouveau concept chez DCNS la frégate "Advansea"

DCNS a présenté hier Advansea, un avant-projet sensé reprendre le flambeau des frégates La Fayette qui avaient, en leur temps, créé un nouveau standard dans le créneau. DCNS intègre quelques choix hardis, avec une deuxième plate-forme pour les trois drones embarqués, ou un canon électrique. Le recours à des armes laser n'est pas non plus exclu.
La coque resterait en acier, mais la superstructure recourrait massivement au composite. La conduite sera assurée par 80 marins, le bâteau pouvant compter au total jusqu'à une centaine d'occupants.
Le navire déplacerait 4.500 tonnes, pour 120 mètres. Dernière innovation : le recours à une étrave inversée

le SMX-25

Le SMX-25 constituerait un bâtiment qui pourrait être très rapidement projeté sur un théâtre d’opérations – en combinant, en outre, les avantages du sous-marin et ceux du bâtiment de surface. Conçu pour naviguer en surface à 38 nœuds (10 nœuds en plongée), le SMX-25 dispose de trois turbines à gaz et de trois water jets. Absolument pas !
c'est DCNSS et avant la DCN qui ont été les premiers à poser le concept furtifs avec une proue inversé, si ma mémoire est bonne, on parles de 6 conceptes de ce genres ! mais leur mise en application n'était pas bien justifié ...

sans oublié de parler aussi des suédois qui dés la fin des années 80 et début des 90 ont penser à la mise en application d'un batiment furtif, qui soit indetectable par les Radars, ce qui a donné naissance aux Visby entre autres !

je pense que les préludes de de ce concept remontent bien loin au CSS Virginia conçu durant la guerre de Sécession

si c'était à l'époque un concepte de valeurs, on aura eu une 1°WW avec un autre gout ...
sauf que pour les Css je le considére plutôt, un resultat influencé du nouveau concept boulversnt à l'époque .. c'est les SM

Eurocopter’s comprehensive portfolio of naval and maritime helicopters will be highlighted at the 2010 Euronaval exhibition and conference, including the participation of a fully-equipped NHIndustries NH90 NATO frigate helicopter – which is entering service with a growing international operator base.

The Eurocopter participation in this biennial event, to be held October 25-29 at Le Bourget near Paris, is to underscore the company’s decades of experience in naval helicopters. This expertise has resulted in a product line responding to operational requirements that range from anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare to evolving missions such as anti-piracy, anti-smuggling and the support of special forces.

Shown on the Euronaval static display line will be the NH90 NFH helicopter, produced by the NHIndustries joint venture of Eurocopter, AgustaWestland and Fokker. Mission equipment displayed with the NFH includes the Thales FLASH sonar, EUROTORP’s MU90 advanced lightweight torpedo, the MBDA MARTE MK2 S medium-range anti-ship missile, as well as “harpoon,” deck grid and SAMAHE securing and traversing equipment.

Deliveries of the NH90 NFH began in 2010 to France and the Netherlands. Italy and Norway will receive their first NH90 NFHs later this year, followed by Belgium in 2011.

“Equipped with the latest sensors and weaponry, the NH90 NFH offers unrivalled flexibility to achieve the ‘one ship-one helicopter’ multi-role frigate concept,” said Eurocopter Executive Vice President – Governmental Programs Dominique Maudet. “The NH90 programme is the largest helicopter development undertaken in Europe, and its naval capabilities cover the spectrum from reconnaissance, identification, and tracking to deterrence, attack, rescue and transport.”

Eurocopter’s indoor exhibit at Euronaval will feature scale models of its other naval and maritime helicopters, including the AS565 MB Panther, AS365 N3 Dauphin and EC645.The Panther is the military version of Eurocopter’s twin-engine Dauphin rotary-wing aircraft, providing a multi-purpose, medium-weight helicopter tailored for applications that include anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, Economic Exclusive Zone (EEZ) surveillance and control patrols, maritime counter-terrorism, casualty and medical evacuation, as well as troop and cargo transport. Eurocopter’s EC645 is an armed variant of the EC145 twin-engine helicopter, which can be used in the maritime environment for EEZ surveillance, armed sea police missions, counter-terrorism, search and rescue, as well as personnel evacuation and cargo delivery.

Although not displayed at Euronaval, the EC225/725 can perform multiple all-weather maritime roles as currently is the case with the French Navy.

Par contre le projet Navantia ressemble beaucoup au DDX Americain.............

Je vais essayer de trouver des photos des stands israéliens, si je peux, mais tu peux tous de même voir la version journalier de DSI, il y a déjà 2 édition accessible de la 1° et 2 ° journée

En fait, le F2M2 est effictivement, ni qu'une copie à la sauce espagnole d'un navire de la série DDX ..
Pour le PA02, tu peux remarque le design très évasé de l'îlot pour limiter l'emprise sur le pont ... Ca me rappelle le Ranger dans les années 30, les vieilles recettes sont toujours les meilleures
Si tu revois le Projet Julliette ( Romeo&Juliette avec prop conventionnelle ! ) tu dois remarquer aussi qu'ils ont tellement bien modifié le dessus de l'ilot qu'ils ont supprimé la passerelle de veille aérienne

Effectivement et meme la passerelle "avia" cede a la mode du tout furtif
