Mark Hamill Charged Humongous Fees for a Measly 30-Second Appearance in 2015

Luke Skywalker remained an important character in the original trilogy but wasn’t a huge part of the prequel trilogy. However, Mark Hamill’s character returned for the sequel trilogy from 2015 to 2019.

The first film of the trilogy featured Hamill for just 30 seconds at the end, but that didn’t stop the legendary actor from charging a fee that was apparently somewhere between $1 million to $3 million, as per a report by Marca.

The most curious thing is that Hamill only appears at the end of the film, but his brief cameo was not exactly proportional to what the actor earned. The actor appears for just 30 seconds on screen and charged between one and three million dollars for his appearance.

While Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker has always been a fan-favorite character, seeing him for just 30 seconds wasn’t the biggest treat for the audience. Thankfully, Hamill’s role increased in the next two films in the sequel trilogy, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Apart from these roles, Hamill has remained absent from other Star Wars projects, with the exception of The Mandalorian TV Show. In the series, Hamill reprises his role of Luke Skywalker, albeit in just a few episodes.

At the end of the day, Hamill had paid his flowers to charge such astronomical fees in Star Wars: The Force Awakens due to his early contributions to the success of the franchise.
