Paris Hilton's not-so-simple life is headed to the small screen.

Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning's production company, Lewellen Pictures, is teaming up with the indie studio A24 to adapt Hilton's recently published book Paris: The Memoir as a TV series.

The hotel heiress and socialite's glamorous yet tumultuous story has previously been explored in reality series like The Simple Life and The World According to Paris, and documentaries like This Is Paris and The American Meme, but this new series marks the first time that Hilton's life will get the scripted TV treatment. Hilton, the Fanning sisters, Brittany Kahan Ward, and David Bernad will executive-produce the project.

Details are still under wraps, but it's safe to assume the series will highlight some of Hilton's many memorable pop culture moments. Will we get episodes dedicated to the recording of Hilton's hit 2006 song "Stars Are Blind," or the unforgettable photo with Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, or the filming of House of Wax? Will Elle Fanning's working relationship with Sofia Coppola lead to any Bling Ring connections? (Hilton and both Fannings attended a Chanel event celebrating the Sofia Coppola Archive last month.)

Hilton's memoir also dives into some of the darkest chapters of her life, including her sexual abuse at a Utah boarding school and a frightening encounter with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein; even if those traumatic incidents don't make it into the series, it seems likely that the show will address some of the bleaker details in Hilton's story.

Elle Fanning's Hilton fandom notably extends back to childhood. The actress, 25, dressed up as Hilton, 42, for a W photo shoot last year, and gushed about her admiration for the reality star in an interview with the outlet, saying she repeatedly rewatches Simple Life. "I love Paris Hilton. I've gotten to meet Paris a couple times, and she is the nicest and coolest," Fanning said. "It was so fascinating hearing in Paris's documentary how she put on this persona for the reality show. It's quite clever."

Fanning also revealed that she and her sister, 29, used to "act out the scenes" of Hilton's reality show. "I would normally be Nicole Richie and she would be Paris," she said. "We would say 'That's hot' and 'Loves it.'"

Casting details have yet to be announced for the new Hilton series, but it's worth keeping in mind that Lewellen produced The Great with Elle Fanning in the lead role. Dare we suggest that one or both Fanning sisters could reprise their childhood roles?
