Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has lost nearly 50 pounds recently, and some have assumed that he’s using the popular Type 2 diabetes drug, Ozempic. However, the buff-body, multi-hyphenate star has shut down rumors, crediting the gym for his new appearance.
Fif responded to Ozempic claims on Wednesday (Jan 24.) via Instagram, denying the use of the weight loss aid to quickly slim down.
“You wanna talk about weight loss? I was in the gym, I was working the f**k out, man,” he started. “And they say it’s Ozempic? I was running, I was running, I was doing what I had to do. You seen me on tour. I was 253 pounds and I came down… I’m 210 right now. Ow, how you feel about it?”
Although 50 has denounced Ozempic, other stars have been open about using the drug, including Amy Schumer, Sharon Osbourne, and Tracy Morgan. Back in December, Oprah Winfrey also denounced Ozempic but admitted to using an unnamed weight-loss drug “as a tool” to maintain her weight.
The TV mogul spoke on his weight loss journey before — adding that abstinence from sex has helped him to focus and enhance his rigorous training.
“My new idea is so big, I don’t have time to be distracted,” the 48-year-old wrote via IG on Saturday (Jan. 20). “I’m practicing abstinence, I have been meditating and focusing on my goals. I hope this New Year helps you excel to the next level.” He also recommended that his fans do the same.
“I feel great. I think more people should try it,” he said.
The Queens MC spoke on getting back in the gym last year ahead of his Final Lap Tour.
“We gonna do the tour and stuff like that, right? So I’m back working out like that,” he said at the time. “I always work out, but it’s different when I gotta start running and all that sh*t. Matter of fact, I’ma show y’all [on] Live every day. Yeah, I’ma do five miles in front of ’em every day.
He added, “You gonna see me come back down. I’ma lose at least 25 pounds before [the tour]. I’ll be back in dog shape before I go. I’ma start talking mad sh*t when I’m back in shape. That’s why I be wanting to fight and sh*t like that, on the low.”
