#FriendshipGoals: Dakota Fanning, Kristen Stewart have 'Elle' Awards love fest
Note to self: If you're ever about to receive an award, get your best friend to present it to you.
In the case of Kristen Stewart, that presenter was Dakota Fanning, and she said only the loveliest things about her pal. In turn, Stewart showed appreciation for Fanning when she accepted an honor at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards Monday night.
Fanning, 22, who officially met 26-year-old Stewart about seven years ago on the set of The Twilight Saga: The New Moon (though they'd crossed paths before that), told attendees at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons the two had about their close friendship.
"I can honestly say that my friendship with Kristen is one of the most special bonds in my life. She has held my hair back as I told her (of) heartbreak, she has always been there for me when I have needed her most," she said.
"She is able to get right to the core of a character or a scene or a line, and convey emotion in a way that pierces the heart. She finds what is most important, and carves into it like a building into the sky."
After that line, Stewart screamed. "Obviously the 'carving into the building' part is an inside joke, and I'm super proud of myself for working that in."
Stewart cheered, again. "I am so proud to call you one of my best friends in this world, you are my sister forever," Fanning said.
After clips of Stewart's film work was shown, the honored actress took the mic to accept her award. And she had to thank her presenter.
"She flew here to do this, because we're, like, such good friends," Stewart said about Fanning. "I just watched her in a movie... American Pastoral... She's so good in it. It doesn't surprise me or anything like that, but wait 'til you guys see it." She turned to Fanning. "I love you so much, man. I'm so proud of you... I'll do this for you really soon. Just ask me."
