Do you still believe?

Well, we hope you do because Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are coming back with a six-part “X-Files” airing on FOX this Sunday and Monday night. But it's been 14 years since we last saw our favorite FBI agents on TV, so now is a good a time as ever to remind ourselves where we left off.

Series creator Chris Carter has said in interviews leading up to the premiere that you don't have to watch the nine seasons of television (plus two movies) in order to enjoy the new series, but better safe than sorry. So whether you're a die-hard fan or a newcomer to the series, here's everything you need to know.

Are Mulder and Scully together?

Probably the biggest question on “X-Files” fans’ minds — are Mulder and Scully together, or aren’t they? The last we saw our favorite FBI agents in the two-part series finale, they seemed prepared to run away together, hiding in a hotel room in Roswell, New Mexico, after helping Mulder escape prison (and narrowly avoiding a missile attack on New Mexico caves).

And then, in the second franchise film, 2008's "The X-Files: I Want To Believe," though Mulder and Scully's relationship was more contentious, the pair rowed away in a boat together.

However, don't expect Mulder and Scully aliases Rob and Laura Petrie when you tune in Sunday. Carter, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny have all talked openly about how in the years since we've seen Mulder and Scully, their relationship has changed. We'll leave it at that.

What about their baby?

Ah yes, baby William! Although they didn't kiss until Season 7 of the series, Mulder and Scully are parents to a baby boy that they named after both their fathers. Baby William was born at the end of the eighth season, and eventually given up for adoption because Scully felt she could no longer protect her child, who appeared to have a connection to the wider alien world and displayed powers like telekinesis.

For the revival, promotional videos and interviews have all indicated that Baby William will come into play, particularly in the psychological impact giving a child up for adoption had on Scully.

Is there anyone else in this show?

You bet! Annabeth Gish, who joined the cast as Agent Monica Reyes in Season 8, will return for the reboot. And all three members of The Lone Gunman, the computer hacker slash conspiracy theorists who often help Mulder and Scully, are confirmed for the return, along with the man everyone loves to hate — The Smoking Man.

But wait, didn't some of those people die?

Yes, The Lone Gunman died in Season 9's "Jump The Shark," sacrificing themselves to prevent a bioterrorist from releasing a virus to the world. However, this is "The X-Files" we're talking about, so they could either be alive (an "X-Files" comic book released after the series said the trio survived) or appear as a ghost-version of themselves, like they did in the series finale.

As for The Smoking Man, audiences only presumed he was dead after the New Mexico caves he was hiding in were bombed in the series finale. Given that the camera never revealed a body, we can't really assume anything.

Are there any newcomers we should know?

All will be explained in good time, but Joel McHale is set to play an Internet news anchor who's also a conspiracy theorist, and recruits Mulder to investigate more alien abductions and government cover-ups. Carter and FOX also announced that "The Americans" actress Annet Mahendru will play an alien abductee named Sveta while Robbie Amell and "Six Feet Under" actress Lauren Ambrose will play Agents Miller and Einstein respectively.
