Shemar Moore Jokes About the Milestone Way His ‘Miracle’ Daughter Frankie Celebrated His Latest Achievement

Shemar Moore‘s most recent project, S.W.A.T., was recently confirmed to be returning for an 8th season, and his daughter did the most amazing thing just a day later.

During an interview with People shared on Wednesday, the Criminal Minds alum revealed that 14-month-old Frankie celebrated her own milestone achievement right after news of S.W.A.T.‘s renewal. “She’s walking!” Moore excitedly shared. He joked, “She waited for me to get off of work. I get the announcement that S.W.A.T. is coming back for season 8 and 22 episodes and literally the next day, she walked 10 steps. Now she’s waddling all over the house.”

Before he gets to work on the television show’s upcoming season, Moore will be “getting some time off to be Daddy and hang out with my baby girl Frankie and my girl[friend] Jesiree [Dizon].” The doting dad of one shared his plans for the break, telling the outlet, “I’m going to get back into playing golf. I’m going to lay by my pool and get that nice, sun-kissed tan. I’m going to swim and run around with my daughter and my dog, take them to the park — just be Daddy.” Moore added, “This is still new for me. She’s about to turn 15 months old, so I’m enjoying it.”

Moore and Dizon welcomed Frankie in January 2023. Of their daughter, he gushed, “She’s my little miracle. The rest of my life, it’s for her.” The Diary of a Mad Black Woman star mused about what he looks forward to sharing with Frankie as she gets older, and his answer was thoughtful and sweet as could be.

“I’m excited to just try to show her my story, and her mother’s story,” Moore began. “We’re excited to teach her that she can be anything she wants to be and teach her that basic goodness. I don’t want her to get caught up in the hype or the fame of Hollywood.” He continued, “I don’t like to call myself famous or a star, but I know that I’m known. I don’t toot my own horn, but I do want her to be proud of her daddy.”

Of his expansive list of projects, Moore said he doesn’t plan to have her watch “all this bang-bang stuff” until she’s much older — spoken like a true protective girl dad! “She can’t watch everything, but who knows?” he said before adding, “I did a spot in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, so maybe with the future of my career, I’ll make sure to do some jobs that Frankie can watch.” If Moore keeps up with these sweet sentiments inspired by his daughter, he’s going to be giving Hollywood’s well-established girl dads a run for their money!
