The Jennifer’s Body star appeared on the March 20 episode of Call Her Daddy where host Alex Cooper got straight to the point about the state of Fox’s relationship with the 33-year-old musician. “What I’ve learned about being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption,” she revealed. “So I think as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship per se.” That sounds like a no-comment type of comment, but she continued on and gave hints that there might be trouble in paradise.
“What I can say is that [he] is what I refer to as being my twin soul, and there will always be a tether to him no matter what. I cannot say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow. Beyond that, I’m not willing to explain,” Fox added. That sounds like a breakup to us, or perhaps a pause in the engagement. This is a huge about-face for the couple who came out hot and heavy when they first revealed their romance in June 2020 after meeting on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass.
Their PDA-drenched red-carpet appearances became a pretty common sight until they seemed to hit a wall. They sought couples therapy just months after announcing their engagement in January 2022. Fox described their therapy journey to Entertainment Tonight as one of “suffering and passion and love and the repeat cycles.” That description sounded just as dramatic as their relationship, but Fox and MGK were honest about their struggles. “We’ve found a therapist that really works for us, couples and individually, and it’s definitely a process, it’s not an easy one,” she continued, “Our therapist said that a relationship is basically the process of breaking each other down, but most people don’t have the tools to build each other back up, to rebuild.”

As of October 2023, the couple’s wedding plans had “stalled” and it seemed like their romance was clinging to life, according to Us Weekly. By December 2023, a source told the outlet that Fox and MGK were involved in “a very up and down relationship” where they “are great one day and then fighting with each other the next.” Whether Fox is just taking it day-by-day with her fiancé or if they’ve called the whole thing off, she’s clearly not ready to tell the world about her current dating status.
