The trailer for Jasper Jones, the adaptation of Craig Silvey’s iconic novel by director Rachel Perkins and Snowtown writer Shaun Grant, starts and finishes with lead character, teenager Charlie Bucktin, quoting Mark Twain: "Courage is resistance to fear, not absence of fear." In between, we get a closer look at this haunting coming-of-age story and murder mystery, set in a time and place where racism was the norm.

One night, local mixed-race outcast Jasper Jones appears at Charlie's window and the pair embark on a journey to solve a mystery that will consume the entire community.
Jasper Jones opened in Australian cinemas on March 2, 2017 and will be on SBS this Saturday, 28 September, 2019 at 8.30pm.
