A new angel got her wings last night at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, after beating out 10,000 other hopefuls who had auditioned across the country.
Kylie Bisutti looked like a pro as she strutted down the runway in a bejeweled black bra and panty set, blowing kisses from a giant puckered pout.
“This has been a very incredible journey for me. Three weeks ago I was just getting up, going to the gym, living my everyday life,” she said in a video posted on the Web site of CBS, where the show aired Tuesday night.
While the brief interview clip shows the 19-year-old native of Simi Valley, California as an unpolished teenager, on the runway, she transformed into a seasoned runway vixen. And she seemed to know she was in her element.
“It was the best feeling ever, I loved it,” she gushed back stage after her debut on the cat walk.
Bisutti beat out another Californian, 23-year-old Jamie Lee Darley, for the title. Darley, who was born in Britain, is a tomboy who likes to tile bathrooms for her dad’s construction company when she’s not modeling, according to her official Victoria’s Secret bio.
It also says the five-foot-eleven actress and model has been rejected for being too big, even in the bosom department – which you would think would not be a bad thing for a model. She was apparently ready to give up when she heard about the Victoria’s Secret contest, the first for the lingerie giant.
And Darley came so close. Bisutti, who beat her out for the prize, likes to scuba dive and “dance like a crazy person when she is alone, according to her bio.
Early in the day after she was crowned the victor, Bisutti’s MySpace page revealed that her favorite book was the Bible, she was married, and her heroes were God, her parents, and her grandma and grandpa.
By mid afternoon, the page had been updated to show less information about the new angel, listing her as a married, Christian Aries located in New York. Her mood is identified as “thankful.”
Bisutti was named the winner after voters nationwide chose her over Darley, and she’s hoping to her new angelic status sticks.
Queen mum of the V.S. beauties herself, Heidi Klum, gave her a hug after her walk down the runway. “Congratulations, you did a fantastic job. Are you going to be back next year?”
“I hope so,” Bisutti said, to which Klum replied, “I hope so too.”
