Fernando Alonso is a huge hit on and off the track. The F1 driver is probably one of the best known faces in Spain and worldwide thanks to his exploits on track.
It's been 20 years since he got into a Formula 1 car for the first time and, since then, he has continued to be one of the biggest names in the sport. In fact, over the years, his fame has grown significantly, with users on social media regularly showing their love for him.
The Aston Martin driver visited the Jarama circuit in Madrid on Wednesday, and spoke openly with fans who crowded in front of the stage he sat on. Without mincing words, he answered all the question directed at him, including who his three favorite artists are.
Alonso acknowledges that Taylor Swift is in his 'Top 3'
When Alonso rose to fame, the first to dedicate a song to him was Melendi. Both are from Oviedo and the artist was kind enough to make a song paying tribute to him.
'El Nano' is still, almost 20 years later, a huge hit at parties and amongst the younger crowd, even if many of them weren't around to experience the Asturian's success at Renault.
When asked, Alonso said that Melendi was among his favorite singers, along with Rosalia. However, the third name he said was Swift, sparking laughter amongst the attendees.
That's because Alonso and Swift were linked with one another on social media after the two left their partners at around the same time. Since then, nothing has come from those rumors, with Alonso cheekily playing up the connection on more than one occasion.
