There used to be a clip joint outside Savannah, Georgia named Chico's where they had a free zoo and punch boards and they would take your money. Palahniuk doesn't know about this, because he doesn't need to. But sick monkeys came to mind because that's what the authorities finally took out of Chico's and Palahniuk is one. He is also a genius. And very funny -- he makes you laugh about testicular cancer, for Heaven's sake. The man should have a Nobel prize or a life sentence. But don't worry. A man with Palahniuk's talent has a life sentence. We are mighty lucky to have his wonderful crazy brilliant sick genius books to read. May there be many more. This one, by the bye, is all true. It includes the story of his father's murder. No joke. I'm going to stop now and say a prayer for this gift from God, Mr Chuck Palahniuk.Read full review

This is an excellent book by 'Fight Club' author Chuck Palahniuk. It's filled with essays of odd true stories from things that inspired several of Chuck's work, or tales that you would expect to read in one of his books. Then it is added with some personal essays by Chuck, that are truly interesting. It by all means is a great book to read. If you love the film to 'Fight Club' or are just getting into his books, then try and get this one. You'll be glad you did!
The biggest selling point for me on the Chuck Palahniuk auction was there were 2 hardbacks, 1 of which being a first edition. It just so happened that all three books were missing from my Chuck Palahniuk collection. Two of the books (Fugitives and Refugees and Stranger than Fiction) aren't your typical Palahniuk works but the are good none the les. I recommend these books and can't wait to finish the last of them; Invisible Monster is supposed to be really good.
