"We've been kind of asking for a long time, "said Salvation Mountain Incorporated board of director and caretaker of Salvation Mountain Ron Malinowski. "And the county has recently decided this legislative session to give it to us. I love Imperial County, Salvation Mountain loves Imperial County and Leonard, he loved being here, "Malinowski said. Leonard Clarke Knight, the creator of Salvation Mountain, passed away in 2014 after spending decades building the installation with clay and countless buckets of paint.
