Rickie Fowler, the 19th-ranked golfer in the world who was born and raised in Murrieta, has married longtime sweetheart Allison Stokke, the couple revealed in social media posts on Friday.

The pair were wed in a private ceremony on an undisclosed beach on Oct. 5. They began dating in 2017, and became engaged on a beach in the Hamptons prior to the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southhampton on Long Island.

Stokke, 30, was a nationally ranked pole vaulter at Newport Harbor High who went on to compete in track and field at Cal. She gained national attention when, at 17, images of her in track attire went viral, resulting in her becoming an internet phenomenon.

Fowler, also 30, became a touring professional in 2009, has five PGA Tour victories and is a four-time Ryder Cup team member. The Murrieta Valley High product attended Oklahoma State University, and now lists Jupiter, Fla. as his residence.
