‘Real life’ Marge Simpson is just as terrifying as you’d expect her to be
Nightmares for days.
This is not what we thought it was going to be. When someone told us this morning that stylists had “transformed’’ Marge Simpson, we expected to see a sexified, fashion-forward version of the cult cartoon character — a la Barneys’ controversial Minnie Mouse makeover two holiday seasons earlier.
But, no. It wasn’t. It wasn’t anything like that.
Russian photographer Alexander Kholov enlisted the help of makeup artist Veronica Ershova and hair stylist Mikhail Kravchenko to transform an otherwise very lovely human model into the spitting image of Marge Simpson. The project is part of Kholov’s photo series “The Art of Face,’’ which also features models on the receiving end of unreal makeovers as Angry Birds and pop art characters. While the end result — named “Flower Marge’’ — is somewhat alarming (it will haunt you), the process is nothing short of fascinating.
