I liked the description in the book about the actual story. However for my 3 year old grandson, I read an abbreviated version. I had been telling him a story about Magawa a hero rat ever since I read the real story in the news.

Kids will love reading about how rats are trained to sniff out buried land mines. Whether kids just want to follow the engaging art, or delve into all the details, both ways will amaze and entrance young readers. I've never heard of this; what an amazing service animal!
