The Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation is a cultural institution that was established with the aim of housing the works of the renowned sculptor Jorge Oteiza. The museum, which is funded by the Government of Navarra, was inaugurated on May 8, 2003. The works housed in the museum were donated by Oteiza to Navarra in 1992.
The museum building was designed by the Navarrese architect Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza. The design incorporates the original home of the artist, which is now referred to as the House-workshop. This unique architectural design adds to the overall experience of visiting the museum.
The museum boasts a collection of 1,690 sculptures, which includes both definitive works and models. One of the most significant works that can only be seen in the museum is the Experimental Laboratory. This is a compendium of about 2,000 studies that were developed during Oteiza's experimental stage, grouped in the Experimental Laboratory of the fifties and the Chalk Laboratory of 1972.
