The Laughing Buddha serves as a mood lifter – having a smiling appearance.

Sculptures of Buddhism are not intended to be sculptures of divine beings for worship.  They are intended to train and assist our imagination.  Each time we set our eyes on the Laughing Buddha, we are reminded of why it is there.   We are reminded to ponder our inward desires, thereby assisting in their manifestation.

Laughing Buddha is perceived to not only have the power to bring good luck, but also happiness, success, prosperity and better health.

Each Buddha Sculpture Has Individual Attributes

Each Laughing Buddha will have slightly different attributes, pointing towards an individual personality, and a focus on specific areas and items you may wish to manifest.   As an example, a Buddha holding a Wo lu (a gourd or a container to carry riches or bounty)  is believed to take away all the bad energies in the house and instead bring forth positivity and longevity all those who share this space.

Placement is Important

Laughing Buddha is used often in the practice of Feng Shui.   Essentially, Feng Shui is all about the positioning and placement of structures and belongings that create a positive, flowing, environment or surroundings.

Laughing Buddha can be placed in different regions in the house (or garden), depending on what you would like to energize.

  • A Buddha placed in the eastern side in our house is said to bring the family positive karma. If you need to acquire friendliness and bliss for the family, place the statue in this quadrant.
  • If you are seeking wealth, prosperity or overall good health place the Buddha in the South quadrant of the home for best results.
  • If you would like to energize your career or employment prospects, then you should have the Buddha sitting in the North side of the house, which is seen as the career and education area.
  • People who are looking to plan for their family could place this statue in the west direction of the bedroom.

We have a number of laughing Buddhas in stock, each with their own expression.   Come take a look and see which one “speaks” to you.
