Ana Ivanovic weds Bastian Schweinsteiger

​Sorry guys, Ana Ivanovic has been taken. The former world No: 1 player and her footballer boyfriend Bastian Schweinsteiger have tied the knot in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family in Venice.

Schweinsteiger, the captain of German national football team, looked debonair in his navy blue suit; he was all smiles as he stepped out holding the hands of his beloved, who looked gorgeous as ever in her white halter-necked gown with ruffles. The tennis star opted for minimal makeup and let her lovely locks hang loose; she wore diamond earrings, silver bracelet and wristwatch, complementing the look. After the ceremony, the pair sailed away in a boat.

Ivanovic and Schweinsteiger started dating in 2014. The couple have been keeping their relationship low-profile all the while. Earlier in May this year, Serbian tabloid Blic reported that Ivanovic is pregnant with Schweinsteiger’s child and that the couple will be tying the knot soon. However, there has been no confirmation on the pregnancy rumour yet.

Ivanovic, the 2008 French Open champion, suffered an early exit at Wimbledon two weeks back in the first round against 21-year-old Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets. Schweinsteiger too had a disappointing Euro campaign, where his side lost to host nation France in the semi-finals.

Latest reports have confirmed that new manager Jose Mourinho will be selling the Manchester United midfielder as part of reshuffling the team. Schweinsteiger arrived at Old Trafford last year from Bayern Munich as part of a three-year contract.

The duo can leave all that behind and focus on their personal lives for some time.
