When the sun goes down in Casa Pueblo

Casa Pueblo

Formerly conceived as a summer house, and at the end the permanent residence and art studio of the well-known artist Carlos Páez Vilaró, Casa Pueblo is one of the most visited places in Uruguay, just a few minutes from Punta del Este. The house took around 36 years to be completely built, and nowadays, is a museum, an art gallery, a cafeteria, and a hotel complex. But absolutely nothing is so special as its sunset, the daily appointment to the nature.

Insofar that the end of another day approaches, you can contemplate the sun leisurely reaching the Rio de La Plata (River Plate), while you listen to the Vilaró’s poem, Ceremonea del Sol (Sun Ceremony), perfectly synchronized with the sun movement. It is an unutterable contemplative experience. The house, as well as the sky, changes its colors gradually as a chameleon. At the lattermost moment, the house is not made of white anymore, because it has been inflamed by the golden resplendence that stands out in the horizon and plays with its uneven shapes.

It has been undeniably stated. Casa Pueblo is the ultimate house of the sun.
