That famous image of a couple kissing in the streets of Time Square, that was the work of Robert Doisneau. Doisneau works were ones affected by social practices. Many of his images were intended to sell, thus captured things that could be sold, commodities, and emotions. Many images focused on children or moments worth remembering, like the kiss in the streets of Paris or the waltz. Unlike Robert Frank, Doisneau wanted to show that lighter side of society. He was not out to contrast anything. In fact, at one point Doisneau was employed for Vogue.

Doisneau was even taken to court for his image of the couple kissing in Kiss by Hotel De Ville. He had failed to gain permission to take the photograph of the couple. However, Doisneau then admitted to actually staging the scene using models in 1950. Again raising the question of truth to street photography.
