‘Bachelor’ star Melissa Rycroft recovering after Dominican Republic trip

Melissa Rycroft seems to be on the mend after falling mysteriously ill while vacationing in the Dominican Republic.

Page Six reported this week that the former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant and winner of “The Bachelor” was battling a strange bug after vacationing with her family in the country that’s been making headlines lately for its sick visitors.

“Update for everyone asking: More bloodwork done today. Blood pressure was 90/60 so they’re monitoring it,” the former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader shared on Instagram Stories. “New meds are making me feel so much better! Test results by Thursday at the latest! But this is good progress!” she wrote.

Rycroft had previously posted, “I have been put on a liquid diet, and given meds for my severe cramping.”

Her rep told us, “It has lasted for over a week, and she’s currently getting tested for possible parasites and any other infections.”

In the past year, the US State Department has said at least nine American tourists died after falling ill in the Dominican Republic, while dozens of others have gotten sick but recovered.

Some of the tourists died in what appeared to be similar circumstances, which are being investigated by authorities from both nations.
